The Association's History

The Association was created in October 2006. In that time we have grown steadily attracting the full range of organisations including providers of content, deliverers of eLearning, system developers, users of eLearning, consultants and support organisations.

In 2008 we represented a number of our members to the Victorian government expressing concern regarding one of its tenders. As an association not connected to any business we were able to do this with independence without jeopardising any one company's standing with the government.

Over the years the Association has also become the point of contact for overseas organisations to discover the industry and explore mutual opportunities of development. To date we have had contacts with British, Irish, Korean and Israeli interests.

The Association has also conducted two surveys of the industry. The first was a survey of the industry itself ad the second a survey of the corporate use of eLearning.

Finally, 2010 has seen the development of the Special Interest Groups. In an industry as diverse as ours, members have interests in any of a number of areas. Whether it is the industry sector, a focus on export or an emerging technology, we encourage our members to get together and explore the opportunities that that area represents and to provide leadership in developing that area as required.

Progessively our membership is broadening so that we are now a community of businesses and organisations with an interest in eLearning.
